Stock practical effects site ActionVFX has released a new set of 15 free blood mist elements designed to simulate bullet hits in effects shots.
The clips, which were captured at 60fps with a RED Raven camera, are delivered at 2K resolution against a white background so they can simply be multiplied over existing footage.
The files complement ActionVFX’s existing free bullet FX assets and free footage of smoke plumes and dust waves. All of the files are licensed for commercial use.
High-quality commercial fire and explosion effects
Launched earlier this year after a successful Kickstarter funding campaign, ActionVFX is intended to provide unique, high-quality stock effects footage tailored to the needs of VFX artists.
Its commercial clips, which include explosions, fireballs, ground fires, and fires on burning structures, are all shot in Log colour space at 60 or 120fps, and are available at 2K or 4K resolution.
The 4K versions also come with the original unkeyed footage as raw .R3D or .MFX files. The effects stay in frame throughout the shots, and the clips are available to purchase individually as well as in collections.
